  • Fire Department | Village Of Estral Beach | Charter Township Of Berlin

Estral Beach Fire Department Estral Beach Fire Department Burn Rules What's the rule of burning trash close to one's house? Ordinance 1043 addresses burning within the Village. To paraphrase the Ordinance, you are allowed to burn normal trash (e.g., paper, branches, leaves, etc.) on private property between sunrise and sunset as long as it takes place in a fireplace, furnace, incinerator, or other receptacle for that purpose. Dead leaves may be burned during the months of October, November, April and May of each calendar year. Burning which is done for the purpose of cooking food for human consumption, and small campfires are also allowed. What is not allowed is burning large piles of leaves, branches, housing materials, etc. without a burn permit from the Fire Chief and approved by the Village President or the Village Council. You are also not allowed to burn materials that emit excessive smoke (e.g., wet leaves, etc.), noxious or toxic fumes (e.g., treated lumber, plastic, rubber, etc.), or harmful or offensive fumes or gasses. Section No. 8 states "Any person, firm or corporation who violates any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment in the County Jail not to exceed Ninety Days (90) or both such fine and imprisonment is the discretion of the court, together with costs of prosecution." Section No. 9 states "That in the event it is necessary to abate any unlawful burning using the Estral Beach Volunteer Fire Department, the owner or violator shall be required to pay all charges and costs incurred abating said illegal burning, over and above any fine and or costs. • Christmas Caroling | Village

Estral Beach Christmas Caroling THIS IS NOT SPONSORED OR ORGANIZED BY THE VILLAGE OF ESTRAL BEACH WHEN? Saturday, December 21st, beginning about 6:00 p.m. WHAT? An evening filled with Christmas carols, refreshments and snacks, and holiday spirit. WHO? All beach residents and their children and grandchildren. In years past, a small group of Estral Beach residents have shared their Christmas spirit with caroling and singing as they travel around the village. This year, we hope to increase those numbers and include everyone – either by inviting you to carol with the traveling group, joining in the parade of carolers using your own golf cart or suitable conveyance, bringing drinks or treats to the traveling carolers, or joining us at the village hall for a few hours of festive community cheer and well wishes. Some additional details: Dave Millar will be pulling his trailer with hay bales for seats, around the village. We will have song books and speakers to share the music. We would love to have another resident, who has a trailer and is experienced in doing so, pull an additional trailer of carolers to include as many people as possible. You are welcome to join in a parade (of sorts) as they travel about the village singing. Warm drinks and treats for the carolers along their route would be appreciated. If you are interested in volunteering to be a stop along the route, please contact Sharon or Elayne (info below). You will need to meet the carolers in the street as it is too time consuming and challenging to load and unload everyone multiple times. We would love to have community members join us at the hall. Festive drinks or treats would be appreciated but not required. The hall will also serve as an unloading and loading station as well as warming station for carolers. If you have the ability or equipment to set up some fun festive music at the hall, please contact us. We will also be serving pizza at the hall. You will need to bring your own beverages! If you are interested in being a stop along the route or providing treats/drinks at the hall, reach out to Sharon Jordan via email at love.estral.beach@gmail.com or text Elayne Petrucci at 313-671-7896. We have heard from many community members that they enjoyed the beach crawl and meeting people they hadn’t met before. This is another opportunity for us to come together in a simple evening to celebrate Christmas and community. We know for many the holidays can be crazy busy and for others, it can be a lonely time of year. We hope that everyone can join us and stay as little or as long as you like.

  • Beach Crawl | Village

Lake Erie Estral Beach Photos Estral Beach Resident Beach Crawl THIS IS NOT SPONSORED BY THE VILLAGE OF ESTRAL BEACH This is a resident organized event. WHEN? Saturday, August 9th, beginning about 1:30 p.m. WHAT? A fun-filled, all beach event hosted by various residents to gather, meet, and celebrate our unique community with food, drinks, and music! WHO? All beach residents and their children and grandchildren. The day is designed with flexibility so that everyone will have an opportunity to travel around the beach, meet with neighbors and friends, and enjoy the festivities and activities being hosted throughout the beach. Some additional details: Parade – We will start gathering at the village hall at 1:15 p.m. with a parade of golf carts, ATVs, and the like. If you want to, you can also decorate your conveyance to be entered into a decorating contest – again, the parade is for anyone to join and you do not need to decorate it to join in the fun. To be included in the contest, you must be at the hall and in line by 1:30 p.m. Beginning at 2:00 p.m., residents will travel to areas of the beach and those who are hosting during specific time frames. (For example, you might take your golf cart to the south end and visit any number of homes from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Then you will move to another area of the beach where hosts have volunteered to have some food or activity.) Beginning around 6:00 p.m., activity will move to the hall where there will be pizza, cake, and live music. Want to join in on the fun – we need a few more hosts! Hosting can be something simple – like popsicles or ice cream sandwiches or other grab-n-go items or it can be more. It is completely up to you. What you would like to do – food, games, drinks…. ? Hosting should occur at/near the street – you are not welcoming neighbors into your home and you will only be hosting for a short period of time so that hosting families can also participate. You are NOT committing to hosting an event all day – unless you specify otherwise, we are planning on each area and its hosts to be hosting for 30 minutes (schedule to be determined once we have a final number of hosts). If you are interested in hosting, reach out to Sharon Jordan via email at love.estral.beach@gmail.com or text Elayne Petrucci at 313-671-7896. If you want to help with our second beach crawl, we are taking small donations to defray the costs associated with the activities at the hall or other supplies needed to advertise and organize the event. Contact Elayne at the info above for ways to do that. Please use this link to provide those planning the day with more info. (It is quick) Below are a few pictures from last year's event.
